Finally; BOG Championing The Course of Opposition in Lagos State
Lagos state may have enjoyed its reign of leadership devoid of a vibrant opposition since the return to the current democratic dispensation. Social media went agog today, following the statement of former Action Democratic Party (ADP), gubernatorial aspirant and now a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, earlier today via his twitter handle calling on Lagosians trudging his inbox demanding money and requesting him for give-a-ways.
The real estate mugol and businessman BOG, as popularly called, obviously angered with the continuous wastage in governance at all and the gullibility of Lagosians in electing their leaders who are not accountable, hence directed the social media beggars to re-channel their requests to their elects while sparing him with his hard earned money. The tweets which read in parts;
“Stop coming to my inbox to DEMAND that I give you my hard earned money
Go and meet those you used your “influenza” skills to persuade the world that they’re the best for Lagos & Nigeria. Don’t you know their address again?
You put them in office to eat our taxes. Join them.
Seriously, you worked hard to get your governor, your senator, your house of reps member, and your house of Assembly members “elected”, to make their rigged “victory” plausible, yet you’re in MY inbox demanding that I do “giveaway”!
You miss road?
What you don’t realise is that those fellows are now balling on my money & that of millions of other taxpayers in this state. Go and collect your share from them. If they don’t answer your calls, gather yourselves and go to their house or their office to collect yours, monthly”.
The tweets have attracted several comments from Lagosians who seem to be aligning with his opinions as one of the comments read ” Lagosians do not even know their elects unlike the hinterlands where their elects are held accountable, urging Lagosians to wake up.
The statement from BOG may have been attributed by the recent allegations by an online medium Sahara Reporters alleging impunity and misappropriation of state’s fund “tax payers money” by the leadership of the Lagos House of Assembly amongst others and the failure of the government to have programs for its citizenry.
With the clock ticking closer by each second to 2023 general elections, it’s obvious that the narrative may be changing as this points to the provision of the so much needed opposition in the center of excellence.
